My apologies for newbie question

Post by macattack »

Please forgive my newbie-type question, but I've never played Field of Glory and before I purchase it, I just want make sure I understand it's game design.

FoG consists of a number of scenarios, not a campaign correct? I am familiar with the Panzer Corps campaigns and if I read the on-line information correctly, FoG does not include Panzer Corps styled campaigns.

However it does look like many players have designed tournaments with scenario-styled campaigns that gamers can compete in.

Is that an accurate assessment?

Yes, that's right. Plus you can play one off games online (or against the AI) with any of the armies contained in the various expansion packs that you purchase. So you could play a historically realistic game between two Wars of the Roses armies, or you could play Late Republican Romans versus the Medieval Swedish if you wanted to have a bit of a laugh.
