GUI or suggestion for unit selection

Hi I have introduced the game to some friends of mine.
We have Macs. They like the game. The annoying part is that if a unit
is selected, it is difficult with or without the mouse to deselect the unit to
to choose a unit adjacent.
Our suggestion is to add another command that appears
with the 'rotate to face' command. That would be 'select unit'.
This would speed up game play and reduce aggravation.

This is only for units adjacent to a unit selected.
This would be very useful on the iPad version.

It's a UI choice that we based on user feedback. Having the 'select unit' option confused people on how they were supposed to select units. That was the initial reason we had a left/right UI mode. We added the left only mode for single-button Macs and the upcoming iPad version.

One thing to note is that holding down the left button will select the unit underneath any orders that may be available or have popped up.

If you still think that another option to select the unit would help, then I could perhaps add it back as an option for players such as yourself?

Thanks for the tip about the left/right mouse mode I was unaware of it.

Macs have come with 2 button mice for awhile now.
