Editor error?

Post by phcas »

Hello,

I have problems with the editor. There is not one scenario I can make that will work! When I start making a map and scenario it will work if I test it. If I go further than the game will crash if I try to start the scenario (small of big scenarios does not matter). In the check there are no errors in the scenario.

I also find out that in the editor v101 if I make a scenario there is no allied turn in the game only axis turns if you play Axis AI. Only on hot seat there are Axis and Allies turns.

I already reinstalled the game completely but I still have the problems. I think I make no errors in my scenario's.

Does anyone else have this problem? It is very frustrating! :( :(

Have you tried following the step by step instructions in the editor manual?

Like Sebastiansc said, you must likely just missed something.
If going through the step by step in the manual doesn’t help, upload your scenario and post the link to it here. We can take a quick look at it.

But above all – don’t get frustrated with it. This game is far too fun for that.

Frankly, it is not clear what exactly is the problem.

But perhaps the error in the following. In the editor, there are two types of data:
1) Hex recognized by "engine" of the game;
2) the "picture", which is drawn and has no value for "engine" of the game and needed only for decoration.

Both are important components!

Perhaps you have drawn only the "image" (2nd component) and the "engine" of the game there is no identifiable territories (such as clear, city, swamp, hills, road, river, etc.).

In other words, the if you put a picture on a map of the city, the game engine will not accept this as a city hex, if "under it" will not be hex type "city".

The image or overlay does not affect what the game sees as the 'real' terrain. I have many city overlays with entrenchment terrain 'under' them - the game sees them as entrenchment, which is my intention. The player sees city.

So, check the underlying terrain by pressing the Space bar and look for black hexes. If there are any - fill them with terrain.

Thanks for your support

It seems to work now. I had a few versions installed of Panzer Corps and also in changed directory names. I think things were mixed up specialy the "shared" files in "my documents/my games/Panzer Corps.....". After I deleted that one and after a new install things work well now.

Thanks again

Caspar
