Are you speaking about the vanilla CeaW or GS v2.0? We've altered the editor to support GS v2.0 and we use it to place units in the scenarios, change the map etc. The old editor is not compatible with GS v2.0 and will crash the game if you try to use old CeaW scenarios in GS.
We've decided to NOT release our modified editor so if you want to alter scenarios you need to edit the text files directly. You can find a description of these files in one of the threads in this forum. The reason we don't want to release the editor is because it will create more support issues. It's hard enough to help people getting the basic GS v2.0 up and running. Since we're fixing bugs it's good to know that all play the same scenarios and not modded ones.
I've used the editor quite a bit and it's a nightmare to work with. If you make one little mistake then the scenario you create will crash the game during compilation. So if we released the editor we would have had to deal with a lot of support for people having game crashes they created themselves. Unfortunately the game engine is not very robust. You can just try to add a blank line in general.txt and then the game won't load at all. If you miss a / * then it will crash as well. This problem is the same for all txt files. So trust me when I tell that you don't want to deal with the editor. It will only give you a lot of frustration until you finally manage to make a scenario that can be compiled without crashing.
