Posts: 101 Unfortunately we have to, as some of you already may have suspected due to the late opening of the beta (which has not yet opened), announce that the release date will be postponed. We had some polishing to to, a login system was required, we wanted to tune up the maps, graphics to be improved etc. This takes time. The good thing is that once the game comes out, it will be a much nicer experience for all of us

No exact release date has not yet been set. Approximately in 1 to 2 months from now.

We hope that you all have understanding for our situation and we appreciate your patience. Thanks.

Hi Infidel

while we underestand it can be disappointing to hear of a delayed game you have to understand how complex making a game is. It is far more complex than any other type of software. Games dont have to just work, they have to look great nd be fun. These thigns mean you have to keep iterating and throwing away anythign that doesnt work.

The reason the game is delayed is because teh team are not satisfied with their results and reworking it so that when it is time for you to play you will have a great experience. The other way to do it is to throw the game out the door as soon as possible with biugs and unfinished features and hope to patch it later.

We know what customers prefer and we dont plan to release games until they are ready. Please be patient and understand it is all for your benefit.

If you would like to play the game early then join in the beta and help make it an even better game.

The Slitherine & Zeal teams.

I wonder who crapped in his wheaties?

First off Slitherine is not some massive entity out there like most mainstream game publishers. And the people they publish for, are all hard working small operations that simply don't have the cash clout or the man power to work with.

The fact that in some cases some of the wargames produced by some of the operations that are connected to Matrix Games and Slitherine, are several orders of magnitude better games, is really just an indication that they are likely that much better than the biggies of the industry.

And that for instance, Battle Academy has been produced and seen two expansions in a fairly short time span, is if you ask me, incredible.

Panzer Corps is equally an incredible release.

Sure I had to wait a short span of time for a couple of releases from Slitherine in recent times. Hardly worth uttering comments like the OP did though.

The truth as far as advertising is concerned, where Matrix Games and Slitherine is concerned, is that if they had the cash, to get a bit more exposure, they likely would generate a great deal more sales.
I personally think they might want to try and see if they can make the Steam route work for them.

My hat is off to the guys that see to the patches released, in often incredible short time spans, that keep these very demanding simulations as great as an experience as they truly are. I have never regretted one of Slitherines releases for being rushed or delayed.

Cant take criticism

You have vented your frustration and I expect this to be an end of it. If you continue to post in this unconstructive way you are you will be banned.

Unbelievable..."We are small...we have families...weve had lawsuits and disasters"...just excuses...
Bottom line is you advertised a game with a specific release date....three times now and have failed to meet your "own" deadlines.....again.

If thats what youll ban your customers for ...who have purchased hundreds of dollars of product from you... then so be it !
My blogs and reviews on the game review sites will also reveal your hostility to your own customers.

You were warned of a ban because you were spamming multiple forums, swearing, and posting all in caps. We are happy to defend our customer service - I believe it is second to none.

You are free to post constructively in the appropriate forum if you are concerned about slipped release dates. I would point out that slipping releases to ensure quality is far more the rule than the exception across the industry.

Cheers

Pip
