moving in "under" enemy aircraft?
I want to move my transportless towed AA unit underneath an enemy aircraft without shooting at it or anything else. How do I do?
In other words, how do I tell the program that when I click on a hex that means "move there" and not "attack there"?

I'm assuming it's to be in range of a different unit.deadtorius wrote:Try switching from air to ground mode then move, if that doesnt do it I guess it can't be done. I am not sure exactly why you want to move under enemy air but not shoot at it, that is the reason for having them in the first place.
Since you can fire and then move if it's just a redeployment issue.

If the plane you want to attack can only be brought in range by moving into the hex.deadtorius wrote:Try switching from air to ground mode then move, if that doesnt do it I guess it can't be done. Since so far no one has been able to figure out how to do this move, then I’ll assume it can’t be done.
So now the question is – Why not? And I don’t mean from a program UI point of view but is there any historical, true to life, balancing, etc. reasons that you shouldn’t be able to make this move.
So far, I can’t think of any.

No need to try to think of any historical reasons for this.
There aren't any. This is clearly a game engine limitation.
(And I'm not saying it is a severely crippling one. In fact, I can't honestly say I need the devs to have a look at this. I realize to fix it a new kind of exceptional move mode needs to be added, and I'm not sure I want the devs spend their precious time on this issue)
I just thought that since I hadn't read about anyone else having this issue, I'd report the limitation, that's all

Hi,
i just registered to the forums because i have the exact same problem. Any solution yet ?
I currently try to beat the US West scenario on Fieldmarshall difficulty and that seems to be a "make not a single mistake" scenario. So i dont want to waste my 12.8 Flak on the crappy P38 in the neighboring Hex, but want to move it there, so I can target that Mustang 4 hexes away...
ofc this is just a minor issue in an otherwise fantastic game. I was betatester for SSI, mostly on location issues (I'm German) for all the "General" games from PG2 to Fantasy and Pacific, and I'm totally hooked to PanzerCorps now

This is something we need to address in one of the patches (thx for reminder
), but for now you can do it using cheat codes. Either set weather to rain/snow using weather cheat, or give AA unit 0 ammo using "ammo" cheat. After moving AA unit to target hex, restore status quo by entering another cheat code.
