The FOG books
I have just ordered "Eternal Empire" from the website ("Storm of Arrows" is currently out of stock). I was just wondering about the development of these books. I am not a TT player at all but did they gradually evolve from the TT community over a prolonged period of time then? If they have, how long has this process taken and did the rules/text appear in earlier formats? Just curious really.

Some preliminary lists were developed during rules play tests but I beleive that the books were done after the rules were finished. As far as I can know the lists were done by the rules authors and some of the original playtesters or others personally known to the authors. They weren't developed as an open source style project with input from the community at large. This is different form the process used int eh development of the DBM and DBMM lists where there was more community input as far as I know.

The Mongol Invasion army in Oath of Fealty represents the armies that invaded Russia and other parts of Russiaunder Subutai and Batu and so not too far from those of Ghenghis Khan. The original Mongol Conquest army is actually in Empires of the Dragon.Fedem wrote:Hi, small question. The armies of Genghis Khan belongs to the book Oath of Fealty right?
thanks

I am just just guessing here but what might happen after "Oath of Fealty" comes out (the last in the series that Slitherine is definitely committed to producing at this stage) is that there is another expansion or two released that are "composite" lists. What I mean is they will include some of the most in-demand armies from the books that are not going to be released in their entirety. I have got this idea in my head from something either Iain or Keith said a few weeks back. So, if something like that does happen, then I think a very strong case can be made for certain armies - such as Genghis Khan, the early Roman and rivals lists and hopefully the other German medieval lists too.Fedem wrote:Ok, thanks for the answer Chris. So I guess it's going to be difficult to ride with Genghis :/
