Any way to save your army?
Hey all, I want to do multiple campaign playthroughs, but I'd rather not have to completely rebuild the entire army from scratch every time. Is there any way to carry over your elite units with their experiences for a second playthrough to make it easier to take the paths you want?
Not possible and would be very unbalanced, in any event. You'd be bringing in core units with experience and upgraded equipment not available in the time period (ie. starting Poland with Tiger II's with 14 strength). The best you can do is use a mod that allows you "free form" deployment at the beginning of the campaign. Then, you can pick and choose the core units that you want to start the campaign with plus deploy them where you want. All of the units have been removed and you are given the same amount of prestige that is normally associated with Poland. Link is below, if you want to check it out. Also, once you play through a couple of campaigns, you should check some of the modded ones in the Scenario Design section of the forum.

Open the Campaign.pzdat.
Replace any instance of the word

Poland
The end result is your campaign is a never-ending loop. It's a temporary solution, we should have something much more interesting in terms of saving Cores after this first patch is out.

Don't be so quick to harp on the new guy fellas.
One of the central themes of Panzer Corps is to let people play they want to play.
Besides, maybe he'll 'upgrade' his elites down to proper equipment of the era. Might be fun to run around with a 4 star 14 strength PZ IA (I've never seen one of those ever), and it's a good opportunity to get more kills to unlock more heroes and medals.

Personally, I think it would be absolutely amazing if you could replay the entire campaign with an imported core, but on the second play through the enemy 'scales up' in experience and equipment to provide a reasonable challenge.
It's a common theme in games these days, maybe some day we'll have it too.

Oooh, I had never thought about it until just now, but a "New Game+" option for Panzer Corps really would be a lot of fun. I would love it if you implemented such an option.

Yeah, the whole idea is that I love playing games with New Game+, especially since I work full time and I don't have as much time to play games as I would like (and there are a lot of 'em out there), so going back and zipping through the earlier missions would make the gameplay experience a lot more exciting.

We have plans for how we can give you more fun with your core force. Its a slightly different and lower tech approach (which means we can do it much more quickly than the NewGame+ idea) but should still allow for you to spend a lot of time with your core.
Watch out for an announcement later this week

The new DLCs will incorporate the ability to save and transfer your core from campaign to campaign.

Each campaign can be started with the core force from the previous Grand Campaign, so you can continue Grand Campaign ’40 with your core force that completed Grand Campaign ’39. Alternatively players can start with a preset core force and play each campaign on its own, or jump in to the Grand Campaign at any year.

You want to start in 39 with King Tigers, Me262 and so on?taniquetil wrote:Hey all, I want to do multiple campaign playthroughs, but I'd rather not have to completely rebuild the entire army from scratch every time. So... what will the campaign of grand campaigns be called then...?Kerensky wrote:The new DLCs will incorporate the ability to save and transfer your core from campaign to campaign. Each campaign can be started with the core force from the previous Grand Campaign, so you can continue Grand Campaign ’40 with your core force that completed Grand Campaign ’39. The grand-grand-mother of campaigns?
