Reserves

Post by daferg »

Hello All! Because of the great reviews and the support I see from the developers, I decided to buy this game. I hope that this is the beginning of a resurrection of all of my favorites. Onto my question.....I am on the map where the AI has deployed troops south of Kiev and you are to secure the area north. I was unable to deploy all of my troops during the deployment phase. This had never happened before but figured it would work its way out. After six turns I was only able to deploy one additional unit. I hit the F8 key to bring up my reserve list to see the units I have left. I was not able to find a word about reserves in the game book or help. Am I just dum or am I missing something.

Kiev is a "limited deployment" map with only 18 core slots available (plus any SE units, if you have them; SE units don't use a slot). Any unused units will stay in your Reserves and can be used on the next map. Normally, you get a few more deployment slots each scenario as you progress through the campaign, but Kiev (and Greece) buck that trend and have fewer slots since they are smaller and easier. They make great maps for getting experience for your newer and least experienced units (at least, that's what I use them for).

Thank you AgentX for the reply. You said it was limited to 18 slots because its an easier map. I really need those reserves right about now or my Germans had better start learning Russian. Fun game and am already look forward to the next release. Perhaps a Pacific General or Space General. One could only hope.
