MP Helper Won't Run

Post by Xerkis »

Just want to see if anyone else has had this issue with the MP Helper.

I have it in my Startup folder and it has been starting up as it should and all was well for about a month now. Until yesterday.

Although the process does show up in Task Manager, the actual application does not show in my system tray. Restarting the PC had no effect on the situation and I didn't notice any errors in any Windos Logs. I ended up having to reinstall the MP Helper to get it to work again. Obviously not a big issue to reinstall, but just wondering if this is a known issue or what I might be able to check if it happens again.

Running on a Windows7 sp1

Until this moment, I think you are the first one with that issue, Xerkis.
At least in this PC forum.

Oooo, lucky me.
:D

I’ve trying to think if I have done any downloads or installs since it worked last – and the only thing I can think of was the Demo of Battle Academy that was just announced on the Slitherine forum. So other than that, there “shouldn’t” be any system reason why.... and I don't see why that would be it either.

Sorry you are having problems. I'm passing this to Phil to look at.

Hmm - it's definitely odd. I'm going to blame a firewall/AV/evil shaman issue for it ;). Please let us know if it begins misbehaving again though.

Cheers

And here I thought I was the only IT Tech that used that excuse.

Sounds good to me though.

My Outpost firewall, sometimes, seems to have free will in blocking applications, when I already had given them permission.
