German Partisans Turn 2!!

Post by Blathergut »

In fact, it's only the first Allied turn, and German partisans have popped up in Danzig. Is this normal??? Have never seen it happen before.

Using the latest (.22) version.

This gets me to idly thinking (most of my thinking IS idle) that a new feature for GS 3.0 (coming to a computer near you in 2015) might be to allow the expenditure of PPs to encourage or foment partisan creation.

Some Polish hexes are set an German core hexes to allow for Danzig, Posen to be deploy hexes. In order to get Konigsberg as a deploy hex it has to trace a contiguous line of core hexes to Berlin and it does with Danzig and 1xSE of Danzig being core German. Same with Posen and hexes 1xNW and 1xSW of Posen.

A further question:

That partisan in Danzig, in the German Turn 2, I renamed and it became a garrison with all the same strengths. Does it make any difference at all whether a unit is a garrison or a partisan? Are they identical for all purposes? I couldn't then rerename the thing a partisan.

I think that they're basically the same except that a partisan will not lose a step if out of supply. I think you may have lost that ability by renaming the unit.
