steep slopes during initiative phase

Does anyone have a trick to be able to tell steep from gentle slopes in the terrain chooser window?

I can barely make out any features beyond woods and water and have long been meaning to ask if these could be made darker.

I have been completely burned by chosing maps with hills Id like to defend and then find out they are steep and or impassible!

Now if the maps were randomly generated, i wouldnt mind as you could argue noone had topographic maps, recon could be incomplete or not practicle/possible, however as it is now it is basically a game of "how good is your memory" when chosing a map
