My main concern is that it may get a bit too congested inside Mirabello Park - I have used the scale of 500 men = 1BG, but I may need to go to 1:600 or even 1:750 (I hope not!). The other concern is the starting position of Lannoy's force. I may need to introduce a scenario rule saying certain troops can only start moving on turn 2 or 3. We'll just have to see what happens in the play-test.
Please note - the command radius for all commanders in just 3 hexes due to night-time fighting and thick early morning fog. The exception is the Imperial garrison inside Pavia itself.

I have used the details provided in a very recent Miniature Wargames article as the basis for the order of battle. One the articles references is Angus Konstam who wrote the Osprey book on Pavia. Type "Miniature Wargames Pavia" into a google search and you should get the July 2011 issue (from page 22).

pete, after our test match i still find that the historical role of arquebusiers in this battle CANNOT be simulated correctly within the FOG rules
Marginal issues are:
a bit more swamp hexes inside mirabello park
Flourence (or Florange) instead of Florence
the famous Monsieur de La Palice is missing

Yes, I agree with that, Frank. Their shooting power is definitely underpowered. They need to be scoring 3 or 4% or 5% hits regularly when they actually average only 1.5% per volley in the tests that I have done with the scenario editor.omarquatar wrote:pete, after our test match i still find that the historical role of arquebusiers in this battle CANNOT be simulated correctly within the FOG rules
Having said that, I don't think it invalidates the scenario as a whole. After all, I also feel that the longbow is poorly represented in FOG too, but that doesn't mean that the Anglo-Scottish scenarios I have done are historically worthless or misleading. Players just have to be aware of the shortcomings, that's all.
OK, I will add a few more marsh hexes and change the spelling of Flourence. But old Jacques de Chabannes is with Montmorency in the siege lines by Pavia.Marginal issues are:

I tried this with TGM in a game, Frank, and the MF arquebusiers hardly got a shot in before they were engaged in melee, whereas the LF arquebuses were hopping about all over the place. I could make an experimental small-scale scenario just to try it out if you would like to.omarquatar wrote:sorry i didn't notice himstockwellpete wrote: OK, I will add a few more marsh hexes and change the spelling of Flourence. by the way, what about changing some arquebusiers units into MF to give them more staying power?

Hello, after downloading the file on the battle of Pavia, this did not appear on the menu when running the game.
Show me where my error.? I need any specific army book?
I would love to enjoy playing this battle, and take this opportunity to encourage the creation of others of the same historical period, until no Renaissance version of this magnificent game.
thanks

It should be available in "custom scenarios".kokono wrote:Hello, after downloading the file on the battle of Pavia, this did not appear on the menu when running the game.

Try this (c+p'd from another thread) . . .kokono wrote:Hi, I unzipped the file in the folder "Games", but when you start the game in the "custom games" did not appear, nor in the normal window.
Can you explain the process I follow to load user-made scenarios.?
thanks
The path for scenarios is (Vista/Seven):
c:\Users\<user_name>\Documents\Slitherine\FieldOfGlory Scenarios\
Each scenario should have is own folder in there. Do not drop the archived (.zip or .rar) scenario in there, but unpack them into that folder. All scenario archives should have all its files into a folder, and as far as know, i haven't yet met any wrongly distributed player scenario.
After you do that, in order to play them, you need to start your game, select NEW Game from the main interface, and from the Game Type dropdown (which by default is set on Historical Game), select the Custom Game option. A list with all your valid custom scenarios from the c:\Users\<user_name>\Documents\Slitherine\FieldOfGlory Scenarios\ should appear in there.
Just select one, and play.
