How is Panzer Corps "engine" improved to PG ?
Hi all !
Can anyone tell me - or is there are list - of each feature that is different or improved from Panzer General ?
I read 98 % is the same but I want to know what the 2 % are. Also, if it´s possible to know in which ways the A.I is improved compared to PG
I don´t care about the obvious graphical or sound improvement.

Panzer Corps obviously shares many aspects with Panzer General. However, it will be easier to ask about certain features that interest you, rather than wish for a list. After all, PC is a game that stands by its own, not a sequel to PG.
You can also learn many aspects just by reading what others have said. Many times there were discussions comparing the games.
To give a partial answer to your question:
- there are only 2 types of victory conditions: Decisive and Minor (PG 2 had 3)
- AT units can no longer have an attack range greater than 1.
- You can have a maximum of 3 elite units (PG 2 could award you with a special unit after your brilliant victories).
- The campaign path is mostly different. However, fans of PG 2 are already working on mods. You can check them in the Scenario Design category.
- Strategic Bombers make a return.
- Your core units are no longer replenished for free at the end of a scenario, while keeping their experience. In PC, only normal replacements can be given for free during the deployment phase, but with a heavy cost on experience.
The bottom line is that, if you enjoyed PG, you can't go wrong with PC.

Well, I think there is more than a 2% difference between the two. One of the biggest changes is the fire/move rules. Now, you can move units later after firing or move then fire later; both not possible with PG. Also, with this change in rules, you now have the ability to "mass attack": where you move multiple units around an enemy to gain initiative and minimize losses. I could go on, but there are just too many changes to really say the games are 98% the same. The best explanation I can give is PC is the "spiritual successor" to PG. It is not a clone or a copy. It shares some similarities to PG, but PC is it's own game.
Also, take a look at some of the cool mods people are already working on (they are in the Scenario Design section). There are some new campaigns with new maps and units (even a reworked PG campaign with the original maps). There's a group working on a modern campaign and another working on big map mod (where every hex is 1 kilometer). PC is a great game and has an excellent looking future. Lots of mods already in progress and the developers are no doubt working on expansions/sequels for future release.

I would say the biggest improvement is the flexibility of the game.
Unlike PG and PG2, which were purely driven by victory hexes, Panzer Corps scenarios are capable of much more diverse and interesting objectives and missions.
This entry has several details (although this particular link is lacking the images it seems):

It borrowed some improved gameplay from later PG games.KarlXII wrote:Can anyone tell me - or is there are list - of each feature that is different or improved from Panzer General?
- The ability to move or shoot a unit, play other units and return to finish the cycle of that unit
- Recon-movement, recon units can do a staggered movement
- Switch modes on some units, 88mm can be used on AA or AT role
- Some tactical bombers can attack air targets, eg Me110
- Artillery can now move and then shoot
- Units can now gain Heroes that modify the units stats
- Some units can be upgraded cheaply if from and to the same family, eg PzIVD to other PzIV
- ...
Overrun, sadly, has not been implemented. Been playing PzC for almost a month and that is the gameplay glaring flaw it has.
Completely agree with the above article listed. Good read.Kerensky wrote:I would say the biggest improvement is the flexibility of the game.
