Post by HBalck »

Campaign "18th tank divsion Barbarossa" 22nd June to 9th July 1941 (18 scenarios)

AN HISTORICAL VIEW AND A LEARNING LESSON INTO THE WAR EVENTS FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THAT MEMBERS 18TH GERMAN TANK DIVISION

First preview:
1st scenario - 22nd June 1941 "In The Forests at Pratulin"
Image
1st briefing:
It goes on Herr General !
Your 18th tank division goes over the river Bug and attacks toward Pruzana.
On your left flank the 17th tank division of our tank corps supports you
as soon as they came over the river with motorized infantry.
After our artillery bombardment at 3.14 o'clock Oberst Jolasse drive with his 52nd
Regiment and our engineers with Auxiliary means over the river Bug.
Major Graf von Strachwitz follow him with his 1st tank batallion at 4.45 o'clock
and advance toward Motykali - here the russians stand with one or
two rifle batallions which must to be thrown.
The bridge over the river Lesna at Wistzcye to occupy with a quickly Coup !
Than here are our first Collecting point for the full arriving tank regiment.
Against noon you must force the runway I at Widomla. Here we can advanced
in the common raid with all 3 tank batallions against the first awaiting
enemy with presumably tanks. With our good information from "Fremde Heere Ost"
(stranger of armies east) the russians stand up and fight with light tanks typ vickers,
but massive in a division.

The first Task is to bring up all our tanks between Pratulin and Legi over the river!
The pontoon bridge is to be taken in enterprise starting from 5.00 o'clock.
After that we need all wheel parts, in particular our armoured Sdkfz's, to follow
our alone fighting tanks with the motorized infantry.

Good luck - Herr General !

in german:
Es geht los Herr General.Ihre 18.Panzer Division wird über den
Bug in Richtung Pruzana angreifen.
I.Panzerabteilung gegen 4.45 Uhr und rückt in allgemeiner Richtung
Panzern nachzufolgen. Viel Glück Herr General !

PS: I hope my briefing translation is OK in this wise - I learned russian at school - not english !

All Campaign maps are between 3000 to 6000 km² (=Hexfields)
Every of my Campaign maps is only one day with 10 turns - you can play every historical battle day of this and other units - BTW I read hunderts of military books in my live to show it correctly !
Here you can play only with the command of the 18th german tank division - you have the command over 17 core units - all others are auxiliary support units from the tank corps / 4th army units or from divisions on the left and right flank of this 18th tank division. More core units you can not recruit in the game - you will need all prestige to reinforce your own division corps troops.

HBalck,

Technically, you don't mention the 7 scenario maps until the 5th entry. You might want to move that information to the first entry so that people will see it right away.

Best Wishes,
Joseph

PS: Cool concept for a campaign.

The motorcycle unit looks great. But why do the bigunit image looks so shiny? It's like they are wearing a latex suit.
Apart from that it looks great, congratulations.
The shadow is a little lighter than the ones from the original units. But it's not important.
Good work.

Thank you - but this is not the place to discuss my new units - its only for my Demo Campaign 18th Tank division.

Not that I really want to discuss your new units. But why?
Is there any particular place to discuss your new units?
Or you don't like people to criticize your work? That's also fine for me.
But I find it strange, when you're so eager to jump on other peoples work....

I like hot critic, make some things better - the unit card looks to brigtly/Tansparency . yes I forgot to change the light effect from small figure rendering settings.
But I find it strange, when you're so eager to jump on other peoples work.... Rolling Eyes
Not really - some guys here need some help and critics to make it better. But I think peoples from USA and UK have not the same critic discuss level like in Germany -I will adapt.
I love it to discuss very hard about some things !

Thats my sub folder for that !

The map and units look impressive! How many turns you foresee in a scenario with a map of this magnitude?

Thank you ! My scale for the day by day Campaigns are 10 turns for every day scenario.
For the Multiplayer scenario Barbarossa Army Group Center I will set 230 turns from 22nd June to 14th July 1941.
