2nd/3rd Move and shooting

Post by doug6125 »

A Xbow armed LH unit finishes its move 6 MU from an enemy unit on a 2nd/3rd move - can it shoot?

No. (Because it must finish its 2nd/3rd move move more than 6 MU from the enemy)

No - units doing a 2nd and 3rd move can't go WITHIN 6" of an enemy unit. Therefore it stops effectively just outside shooting range.

As Don says. ("Within" is defined in the rules as "at or close than".)

Sometimes You can: when a marching unit goes close an ambush marker and a new enemy unit its revealed at shot range.

I thought a 2nd or 3rd move precluded you from any shooting no matter if you find an ambush or not ?

I believe the "live " Ambush has to be revealed when you get within 6 MU, so still no shooting from second or third moves. Once the ambushing troops have been revealed you still can't get within 6 MU, you could end your move closer to a dummy marker though

No, You have to stop after spotting anbush, sometimes the spot distance can be lower than 6" (in village for example).
