Italian Campaign
Out of interest and fun i decided to make a campaign for Italy (not necessarily historical).
You can download it here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/etdi4n.
Before extracting under panzer corps\data it is highly recommended to backup the campaign.pzdat file for it will overwrite this file as well.
Sofar i created 5 scenario's.
To move to the next scenario you must achieve a decisive or marginal victory. Althou decisive is preferable since it will yield more prestige.
To start the campaign click the panzerschule icon.
Suggestions and feedback = welcome

Hi again Nikivdd,
I am having a great time with your campaign. I just finished the Presov map, and I am heading to Nice.
I really like the maps, they are very rugged, have to plan my moves carefully. The AI is very aggressive, and the battles are interesting. I am also enjoying fighting with the Italian army, nicely done how you are slowly adding new units; makes you very attached to the ones you have.
Not sure what difficulty level this is, but feels like the middle one. I have gotten all Decisive victories so far, but several I just made it, so for me the balance is just right.
Haven`t had any issues, loads right up and plays great. Thanks for making this, as I said I am really enjoying it!

nikivdd, if you feel it's ready, you can add a post in the SP Maps sticky thread.

Thanks.
Thanks a lot for the feedback. When i started drawing up a campaign for Italy, i didnt want to make it too difficult. I tested the whole campaign on "normal" difficulty. In the meantime i learned much more than a month ago, especially setting a stance for every individual unit and putting those damn rivers lol. I am still thinking about the next scenario. In the meantime i also started a new project for Germany. If you would like to playtest the first scenario, let me know.bobk wrote:Hi again Nikivdd,

It is actually 5 single player maps linked in one campaign. Perhaps should go into a sticky campaign thread?VPaulus wrote:nikivdd, if you feel it's ready, you can add a post in the SP Maps sticky thread.

Thanks.
First of all, thank you for sharing your impressions.preadr wrote:I've completed first mission in 10 rounds... no elite units as reward, in your campaign?
Not found for purchase or upgrade the units....seems to be difficult put this in campaign?
You know the players.... they never have enough, ... are insatiable
To answer your remarks:
1) I believe elite units as a reward is only reserved for Germany, we should actually ask the developers of the game.
2) Purchasing units: for the first scenario's, the number of core units i provided should be more than enough to complete the missions succesfully. In some missions you get auxiliary units as well. Upgrades are only available since 1938-39 in the vanilla version of the game; i think for my scenario's only from scenario 3 (Albania) are the first upgrades available.
3) From scenario 4 on you can purchase additional core units.
You can edit equipment.pzdat file for add elite unit for any country, I think.nikivdd wrote:To answer your remarks:

I`m thinking, it`s wrong position (but may be it`s normal for 1st training mission).nikivdd wrote:To answer your remarks:2) Purchasing units: for the first scenario's, the number of core units i provided should be more than enough to complete the missions succesfully. Again you can edit equipment file and change "Available From" field for some Italian units or add special, pre-war unit.
And gain lot of prestige in 4 scenarionikivdd wrote:To answer your remarks:3) From scenario 4 on you can purchase additional core units.

And truck speed to low. 2-3 hexes on road in hills?
I could edit the equipment file but the first scenario is actual a training mission against stronger german units. I developed the scenario's as such that upgrades before 1938 aren't necessary to complete the goals. By using the right units for the right job allows you to gain a(n) (easy) victory.
Trucks are indeed slower on hills like in scenario 5. Splitting your core in 2 (south and north) allows you to reach the victory hexes before you run out of turns.

I just finished your Italian campaign, and I must say that it was very well done. A small core and small maps make the campaign pass quickly.
Despite being short, I had a blast. I now have an idea of what the Italian army might have accomplished if they were led better, motivated to fight, and were given adequate materials to fight with.
I am looking forward to leading that army into Cairo sometime after desert tiles are implemented. Perhaps more Balkans and Greece maps can be created until that time.
Thanks.

Thank you for your insights, it is much appreciated.
And indeed, i am waiting for the desert tiles.
But impatient as i was, the next scenario which i made with the tiles at hand, is set in North Africa.
I am currently doing a first playtest, need to make a few corrections, but i hope to release the update this weekend. It is a hypothetical invasion of Tunesia between Italy ,with the help of a German token force and France. As you suggest, i will continue in the Balkans
