looking for a Axis player to test the balance of GS 2.01

Post by Morris »

the GS 2.01 will officially release soon , since I do concern the game is unbalance & the Axis has low possibility to win the game . So I ask one of the elite Axis player for a new pbem to test it . If anyone who defeat me by using Axis , I will make our pbem as an AAR on the forum to show everyone how did a elite axis player accomplish this impossible mission .

That "elite Axis player" certainly wouldn't be me. Typically my Axis are lucky to survive till 1944! Sometimes I win as the Allies, but not consistently. Since I bring the same (middling?) caliber of gameplay to bear whether I'm the Axis or the Allies, I suspect that GS in its present form is weighted toward the Allies. But I am really interested to see successful Axis paths to victory in action.

to survive till 1944 is normal . but my point is that Axis has few possibility to survive in June 1945 (minimum victory of Axis )on the base of GS 2.01 . The present game is unbalance . Regarding to the elite point , I am not an elite, the reason I am looking for an elite is just want to prove that even Axis elite player is also difficult to accomplish a minimum victory on the base of 2.01 .
Anyway ,if you want to try , it will be welcome . my email : ceaw2010@163.com

My experience is that the Russians were struggling in 1942 and couldn't launch an offensive in 1943. When the Germans dig-in in France and Italy in 1943 it's hard for the Allies to get anywhere. E. g. the Siegfried line is hard to crack until you get hordes or tactical bombers.

We haven't got enough data yet about the balance past 1942 after the latest changes. Adding 8 garrison units for Russia as a strategic reserve won't help them much offensively, but you can sacrifice these garrisons to try to screen the Germans in the most important front section. Maybe they can delay the Germans for a turn or so. That's just what the Russians need to have a chance to hold Moscow or Leningrad.

My experience is that the Germans were often able to crush the Russians in 1942 unless the Russians retreated even further east and south than they did in the real war.

What happens in the games you play for the Germans to collapse so fast?

Even Axis have no mistake & almost best performance in France , They have to DOW Russia on May13th 1941 for the fair weather ,so they will be difficult to take Moscow , Stalingrad , & leningrad before winter's coming unless allies player makes stupid strategic mistakes . Axis usually have miserable severe winter & after that Russia will be strong enough to defence the Axis attack in 1942 .Sometimes Russia will launch strong counter attack in 1942 . I can not explain it very detail & clear because of my limited English . So I ask you again for a pbem to show my real experience ,sothat to balance the game & make it perfect . Would you please give me an opportunity ?

I would really like to see you and Max play a game. Max is one of the best of the best. I would really enjoy an AAR between you two. If he's interested I can point him to the latest GSv2.01 beta (i.e., GSv2.01.18 ).

Probably I can give a try to it.
From my experience axis are way more powerful then allies, and its way strange to me to see a person, who so strongly believe in opposite.
Not so "elite" player for sure, but I have some experience.

It would be nice if any of you could make an AAR about the game so we can see how it progresses.
