As things stand the available artillery crew don’t look that Islamic. The two sets that shipped with “Storm Of Arrows” actually being better than the new ones (which look European) that however appear to have been set up for the various Islamic army lists that have guns. Can we have some more Islamic looking artillery crew please perhaps even some regular Turkish ones in dark blue uniforms with black pointed hats ?
Also what about an MF equivalent of the Janissaries with handguns currently available only in LF mode. There look to be some interesting figures added with this module hopefully the “custom battle groups” feature will soon become available to make things look even better.
Many thanks
Ian

>> We do access at the moment to any better images. The crew is eastern european looking. The artillery image is the one we shipped with storm of arrows. The EE beta actually updated the SOA artillery images to new ones that are more western European.

>> The tabletop and digital rules do not support any MF handgunners. For that you would need to play FOG-R.
Sorry but at the moment nothing above will change in the near future. We regualarly update images for earlier published DAG books as we create new ones so one day.

Hi Kieth
Thanks for that. However I do think that the Ottoman artillery crew need to be swapped over so as to use the original figures that shipped with “Storm of Arrows”. I am currently playing a large DAG Ottoman/Hungarian game and both sides have the same Western European artillery crew wearing plate armour.
The gun crew figures for Timurid, Black & White Sheep Turcoman armies also need the same swap as do those for the later Mamluk army in “Swords & Scimitars”. You might also want to use the new Islamic Persian Handgunners to replace the western European ones used in the Later Granadine list in “Storm of Arrows”.
Also any chance of an update on when we are going to be able to make up “custom battle groups” and if making up thiese will require a separate module, something like the unit editor used in the “Horse & Musket 2” series and their Matrix successors. Given the greatly enhanced visual effect I for one would be happy to pay for this.
Many thanks

At the moment modding is locked out so this is not an option. Probably after EE is live we will add the instructions. We just need to add some code to prevent abuse of the system when we open it to modding. It will be a free feature. Also any chance of an update on when we are going to be able to make up “custom battle groups” and if making up thiese will require a separate module, something like the unit editor used in the “Horse & Musket 2” series and their Matrix successors. Hi Kieth
Thanks for this. now that I come to think of it the Granadine foot crossbowmen should also be upgraded to use the new Islamic figures that will ship with Eternal Empire. This leaves the Western European style mounted crossbowmen in the Later Granadine army looking a little out of place. While I realise its probably too late now to add an Islamic mounted crossbowman figure to Eternal Empire. could this be pencilled in for the Oath of Fealty module please ?
Many thanks

Sounds good, but are you saying that players potetnially could alter graphics for MP DAG armies? Im sorta torn over this one, as you could accept a challenge to fight a Seluicid army and find the player took the fancy to change all the pikes to resemble Swiss or Spartans, the cats to look like gendarmes etc.. of course the game effects wouldnt change but it would feel/look.. ahh... odd
Of course for custom scenarios this wouldnt be an issue.
Not to bog the EE beta down with future possibilities but some things for down the road for limited customization of DAG armies:
*custom flags for commanders . i think many players would enjoy that (a nice "land waster" flag for a norse armies CnC, for example, he he)
*maybe the ability to "name" commander units
* or (would likly be a lot more work than a non programmer like me can imagine) but, there are so many graphics of similar type not really used, take for example the chivilric knights. ( i often load up the editor just to place them all on a map to check em out)
What if in the DAG purchase screen, there was a drop down at each unit purchase block to select a limited variety of similar type graphics to customize your dag army?
Not every unit of course would have one, but w the example of knights you could have a literal monte python flying circus of colours
cheers!
