I voted for Pacific. It has already been agreed upon that AfrikaCorps would be the first expansion, and I agree with the choice. But I voted for Pacific after AfrikaCorps if finished. If for no other reason, adding naval to the core forces is fun.

Star General and Fantasy General would be fun - but they are completely different games.

I voted for Pacific. Naval battles isn't really my thing, but I'm looking forward to a campaign in China and South-East-Asia. I was sad to discover there were no Japanese or Chinese units available in the scenario editor :(

North Africa is nice, but I'm afraid I'll soon get desert-fever with all this sand to plough through.

Are these expansions just extra campaigns to play? I can't really think of more to add.. the units are almost complete in this game, so are the terrain tiles and what not :?

I'd still like to see more content for Europe in WW2, I'd vote for a more detailed look at the eastern front from both sides including some stuff for the Axis minors like Finland etc. An actual Stalingrad campaign would be excellent. I'd also like to see a more specific allied general expansion focusing on the western allies. I guess this would have to focus more on Europe so as not clash with the desert expansion.

Winter war/continuation war scenario or mini campaign would be cool. If an east front oriented campaign or expansion is to be made, it would be nice to select route similar to scorched earth or at least army group north center or south. North Africa and possibly Malta and Middle East scenarios would also be pretty fun.

Would love to see a 'Pacific Samurai' ;) expansion. I think the same branching campaign idea used for Germany could work very well playing Japan. For example, Japanese success in the South Pacific could lead to the invasion of Australia, or the capture of Burma could lead to an attack on India. Of course there would some some differences between this expansion and the original game; the big thing of course being that the Pacific was very much a naval/air war, so the naval rules (especially as regards carriers) would probably need to be expanded.

Yes, the war in East Asia from the Japanese point of view, starting with the early battles with the Soviet Union (with whom they weren't even at war at the time) and then Japanese campaigns in Burma and China, then onto India and even Australia. The 'Pacific War' (as the Americans call it) was mostly naval battles and beach assaults, time after time. As scenarios, though, we could include Iwo Jima and a hypothetical scenario about Okinawa - one in which the Japanese army was able to still defend, with the help of the citizens.

Right on man! Again, this one seems like a no-brainer. They could give Imperial Japan the same campaign treatment they gave Germany (albeit with a few tweaks here in there in the basic game system). Yes, I am well-acquainted with the battle of Nomonhan/Khalkin-Gol. It gave the Japanese a healthy respect for the Russians and was probably why Japan did not declare war on the USSR when her ally Germany launched Barbarossa. Also, needless to say, although it was mostly a naval/air war, there were still plenty of big ground battles that Slitherine could look at for potential scenarios. For example, I think the Leyte Gulf/Philippines 44 campaign would probably work similar to the Norway scenario in Panzer Corps. BTW, I'm currently reading an excellent book on the Russo-Japanese war called 'Tide at Sunrise'. The first chapter is called 'The First Pearl Harbor'.

Rather than crank out another single-player campaign, I think the first expansion should focus on multiplayer.

A points generator, where we can use points to create armies of our own with unit limitations based on theme - US Armoured Corps 44, German Afrika Korps, Russian Infantry Division 41 - to be played out on random maps.

Hours of fun......single player will lose its appeal once mastered, and multiplayer too playing just scenarios.......

If it's an "expansion" (as most expansions are relative to the original material), then I would prob say stick with the ww2 period.

And since it's Panzer Corps Wehrmacht (as in PG), there could be a ton of new ideas to be explored on the Eastern Front (primarily post-1943), where basically the real "Panzer Corps" were tested in every way possible - making or breaking them in the process.

Battles such as Battle of Narva/Tannenberg Line (for delaying the Soviet war effort in the Baltic area for 7 1/2 months), Korson-Cherkassy Pocket (would be great for a 'breakout' scenario), Demyansk Pocket (another breakout scenario but this time with lots of auxiliary units and very bad weather), Leningrad (which could lead to other hypothetical scenarios), Battle of Konigsberg/East Prussia (historic, starting off easy then stopping the Soviet armor from cutting you off from the German mainland), Prokhorovka (any Panzer related game expansion should consider including this), Operation Mars (the Rzhev meat grinder) and Operation Solstice (one of the best what-ifs and last offensives on the Eastern Front, your core units instead of historical and King Tigers vs mass T34s) are just a few ideas.

Well, tbh, any expansion would make me a happy gamer. Keep up the great work Slitherine!

Certainly, a random map generator for multiplayer would be brilliant - the Cossacks series (remember that!?) used to have that. It's pretty easy to develop an unbeatable strategy for certain maps, really, especially if you play them over and over again, and random maps guarantee a new map each time.

I would agree - a random map generator with the ability to choose your nation and your initial forces, and then deploy them on the map at the beginning (of course, in positions limited for each side).

I'm in agreement here and part of the reason I'm not buying the update to Panzer General (Panzer Corps) is because I've already played these scenarios and missions and campaigns out years ago. I would rather see the engine move to "random" battle/scenariio generators and a buy units by points system like Combat Mission or Steel Panthers or Advanced Tactics. Canned scenarios and missions just get old too fast and then the game is no longer worth playing. Once you beat a mission/scenario you know the strategy to do it and therefore why do it again? Random generations is the way of the present and future if you want your game to survive and be bought years down the road. I play mostly Panzer Command:Osfront now because of all the generators it has, but, I still play Combat Mission (the origional) and CMAK and Steel Panthers because they have the same game designs of random generators and whatif battles. I like not knowing what I'm going to face. Games like Panzer Corps are like old board games of the past.

North Africa (Corps) of course.

But I would also like to see the three Allied Campaigns of Allied General.

The early British scenarios - in North Africa - were among the most interesting to play maps/scenarios in Panzer General/Allied General for sure.
