Steam release?

I will buy this the moment it becomes available on Steam!

If its like my old PG, I'm so excited!

If there's no Steam release, I'll have to wait for a retail box, I guess - though I see fewer and fewer PC titles in my local EBgames - hope this isn't too niche for them to include it.

When you order it you can choose the boxed option. Mine got here yesterday!

Slitherine is not thinking to release in Steam, at least for now.

Guys, Slitherine`s and Matrix digital shops are definitely on par with Steam, maybe even better. And yes, I use both, so know them well.

Panzer Corps will be available as a digital download including a full manual in PDF, with the option to order a boxed version on demand with a printed colour manual. Both games are completely identical though and they come with free limitless support and re-downloads. Scenario Editor and Editor manual is also included within the game, no DRM except for a personal serial number.

Registration at Slitherine is free and will give you access to the server based PBEM++ MP games, that is really fantastic. No server charges of course and on top, when registering you can choose to sign up to the newsletters to receive regular updates,offers and discounts on Panzer Corps and the rest of Slitherine’s past, current and future catalogue so it is worth registering!

I would never use Steam.

Who wants some corporation connected to your computer all the time.

If I want to play a game I don't want to be connected to the internet for some Axxhole to spy on me.

i dont understand this Steam thing. you can buy the game here pretty easily. they send u an email and give u a download link in 2 min. u download the exe and play the damn game. it s not really complicated.

I like Steam too, but why settle for just one game service? There are a lot of other great companies out there with good games not on Steam, Slitherine/Matrix included. And as mentioned earlier you can order a box copy!

I too don't get why with this Steam's "obsession". I've bought games from Steam, from Green Gaming, Impulse etc.
Maybe it's a question of being more practical, to have the games in only one hub, or security matters....
The only thing that interests to me is the game and also to buy where's cheaper.
But to each his own.

Convenience. Instead of having to create an account, think of a password, remember your password, register, and jump through all of those hoops for every single game you buy, you have 1 Steam account. One account, one password and you're entire catalog of games is covered.

Being centralized, Steam also has the advantage of making it much easier to find other people to play with. You don't have to visit a different forum for every single game, for example.

Steam is great if you want a ball and chain around your leg or tied to the internet for everything you do.Worst still all these years later and offline mode still doesn't work properly without freqent client updates.

If every game was run through steam they would soon be able to decide what games they accept or promote to an even greater extent than they do today. Although convenient now, in the end i think that would be bad for the gaming industry as a whole further down the track. My personal love affair with steam started when i bought a boxed empire total war and couldn't play it for nearly 24 hours. I have been stuck with them (through no choice of my own) ever since.
I can't say how happy I'am not have that trouble with Panzer Corps
Great game by the way... my favourite

Please do not mislead people. You do not need an active internet connection to play games on Steam. You can go into the 'offline mode' Steam even suggests it if you are not connected. And there you can play all your games. So like steam or not but don't lie about it.

Try disconnecting your modem.

I'm on a mobile modem, disconnected 75% of the time and never had any problems, play all my games offline, just go online once a few days for updates.

If I purchase from Slitherine , I get to play the game 20 years from now even if Slitherine ( touchwood) go bust in future

Is it the same for Steam games ? DO I really own their games ?

If no , then what is the point buying from Steam ?

I guess why Slitherine doesnt release on steam is, that steam gets 30% of every sold game.

I like Steam, but i am also happy with my download version from Plimus.

My first impulse when heard of PzC release was to search Steam for it.
It wouldnt hurt the games sales, or its profitability to developers and publishers, to have the game on Steam.
Several publishers keep their own digital distribution system together with Steams.
