Q About general basing

As everyone here surely knows, DBR, which I have been basing to, integrates generals into combat stands. I was going to mount a few command figures diffferently for some "large scale skirmish" ideas I have been playing with and I was wondering how FoG bases generals.

Likely working in the computer business has made me excessively standard-aware.

The bases for generals are 40mm wide and 'up to' 40mm deep. (replace 40mm with 60mm for 25mm figures)
This decision was made to allow players to use their existing generals without re-basing them.
I suspect that in the long run people will standardise on a 40mm square base for maximum command range.
I'm hopeful that it'll give some of our more enthusiastic painters the chance to create a miniature diarama for their generals.
