Rename Units for good?

Post by Nauwiesbande »

Hi PzC community!

My question:
I know that you can rename your units any name you like.
Is is possible as well, to rename certain units so that they appear with the new name in every game you play?
Like with the "Elite" troops, if you want to give them the historically correct name, is there a way to do that in the files?
And if yes, where do I find it?

Thanks in advance! :)

For this sort of modding, you need to open and edit equipment.pzeqp.
Just remember your changes won't take affect until you start a new game (save files are not affected)

I have gone to the program files of Panzer Corps on my computer in the Program 86 file. I looked in all of them for the right things to make name changes and other modifications. I am not finding the right file for some reason. I used to do this all the time with Sturmovik, but I need some guidance on which folder inside the download program to find the sequences to change. Thanks in advance.
Old Timer Panzer General fan. Maybe a Volksturm soldier now. Did they let Volksturm drive Panzers?

If you want to change equipment stats it's called equipment.pzeqp and it is found in the main installation folder of Panzer Corps\Data wherever you installed the game to.

What is the best program to open that file with? I can`t seem to get the columns to line up properly in Word.

I use Excel for that one and Notepad++ for the text files. If you associate Excel to open all pzdat and pzeqp files it does a good job of opening with the columns aligned.
