I am at a lost as to what good are aircraft carriers for?
They obviously have no attack value, and I am at a lost as to how to have a fighter land on them. And if it to just be used as another airfield, where are the dive bombers in the Hunt in the Atlantic scenario?
As it is, fighters are not great at bombing naval targets.
Aircraft Carriers

Against naval targets, use strategic bombers instead of fighters.Carriers serve as mobile airfields that can resupply fighters and tactical bombers. This makes them useful for naval invasions where land-based airfields are not available or are too far away from the action. Note however that a plane needs
to be directly above the carrier to be supplied so only one unit a turn can be supplied, and strategic bombers cannot be resupplied by carriers. Carriers have no combat stats themselves and need escorts to protect them from enemy attacks.
Yes the Strat Bombers are the best, but shouldn't the Carrier be?VPaulus wrote:Page 21:

With specific regards to Hunters in the Atlantic...
The game isn't meant to be decided by air power. And even if there were more significant air assets (British have 2 fighters, 2 level bombers, 1 tactical bomber, and prestige for 1 more air unit) the weather in that scenario is predominately cloudy or raining. Air forces in that scenario are mostly peripheral and useful as scouts.
The aircraft carrier's true use in that scenario is it's extraordinary sight radius. Like the German U-boats, the aircraft carrier has a 3 spotting radius, making it the best British Naval unit to use in a 'scouting' role. Sinking Bismark and Tirpitz on that scenario is only half the battle, you have to find them first!

Ok, well noted.Kerensky wrote:With specific regards to Hunters in the Atlantic...

Actually during clear days, my bombers slammed the Germans really hard, and helped sink the Tirpitz.
