Enhanced ST to units, is that it?

I loved the officer attachments in the PG series. That was perhaps the best part of the game. The awards attached to the units that gave them a basic enhancement, then the special ability that ever so often was won by the unit. It does not look like there is anythng like this in the game from what I see so far.

Only enhanced stars making them a little tougher which has to be bought repeatedly once they are injured. Not to much uniqueness.

Am I wrong in this? I was kind of hoping for more unique unit developement. This is 2011, not 1990.

Yes, I am sorry to say you are wrong.

All you can do is earn the awards via kills. Then you will get a medal. Then perhaps a leaders and another medal and another leader and another medal and the the final BIG Fat Medal.

But you have to earn them.

So other than metals you get no ability to customize the units, or officers, etc. And every unit is the same?

Each unit can have up to three heroes. These heroes can change a variety of units stats, including movement, attack, defense, and even attack range.
