Bombing Malta airbase? - Possible bug!

In my current game with PanzerGeneral (Alex) he attacked with the Axis Malta and after evacuating the Malta FTR he dropped a Fallschirmjäger Division on the airfield on Matla. However, he did not manage to capture Malta itself as the RN interfered and managed to destroy most of the Regia Marina. The British GAR still holds the isle itself, but cannot dislodge the Fallschirmjäger Division without any support. The game progressed and the British managed to capture most of Libya and the RAF and several CV are now in range of Malta and could bombard the Fallschirmjäger on the Maltase airfield. However, this does not work. The Fallschirmjäger Division on the Maltase airbase seems not to be a permissible target for my air units (I did not try with the RN yet.)

Is this intended or is this a bug? It will now be very difficult to recapture the airfield without any air support.

Bug found and fixed. Fix will be out with the next version coming out this weekend.

After installing the Overlay patch the bug seems to have returned. One turn I could bombard the Maltes airfield, but after installing the overlay patch it is not possible anymore.

Its even more strange. One turn I'm able to bomb the unit on the airfield and next turn its not possible anymore?

The overlay patch only contains background image tiles and does not contain any class files. So the overlay patch won't any have effect on being able to bomb Malta or not.

Has your opponent applied the GSv2.01.07 update? If not, I wonder if that's the issue.
