I'm a bit puzzled right now. I just started the campaign Fall Weis again on my Laptop with the RC4 build. I clearly remember that I got a many additional forces at the begin of the mission Norway like Airplanes and landing forces in the RC3 build. But this time I got nothing!
I achieved a decisive victory in poland but in the last turn. This means 17 turns in total and I conqured the last objective in turn 12. Maybe there is a bug which thinks that I did not achieve the decisive victory in the last turn. But I definitly got the Decisive Victory screen.
Or was this map plainly changed?
I will try to finish poland in turn 11, then I will see if this is related to the decisive victory...
PS: Ok I finished it in turn 11 with heavy losses... Yeah against Poland... I'm that bad! But still no change. It seems Norway is bound to get a bit harder... I didn't even get decisive last time... geez I'm really bad! ^^ But this time I'll crush them swift and painfull...
Remember that if you've loose your core units they won't be present in the next scenario.
You can buy new core units, but they won't have any experience accumulated and you need a lot of prestige points.
I'd start Poland again, and would try besides having a decisive Victory to be more efficient. More efficient means buy new units (to begin to earn experience) and save as much as possible your core units from destruction (using reinforcements).
You're not bad. This games only induces everybody to be better.
LOL, funny post. I am at the same spot your are, what level are you playing at? I am starting Norway after a win in Poland on 12th turn at Corporal level, the middle one. I think the only planes in the Aux forces are the paratroopers. Your own airforce starts on that little island. I haven`t taken a turn yet, so I can`t tell if there are any changes, but every time I play Poland it seems like they have less forces...
I purchased the maximum number of units in poland and did not lose any unit at all. The RC3 Norway start was exactly like the Corporal start of the Norway Scenario. This scenario includes a Ju88A, a BF110, a BF109, a Tank IV, 2 Tanks I, a hand full of infantery and one artillery.
The Campaign Start now includes just the Tank IV. This has to be a RC4 change.
@ bobk
Do you actually have an airforce besides the paratroops? Those paratroops are still available to me too... I also play Corporal Lvl.
I usually buy a Stuka in Poland to get some stars before the harder battles. I also buy a level bomber, the one that`s good against ships, but I didn`t have much prestige after winning in Poland.

Are you sure it was in campaign mode and not in scenario mode?
I too started again that campaign in RC3 and I didn't have any of those. I've always played in Colonel level.
Could it be the level?
Hm well I'm 95% sure that I had those units in Campaign mode. Maybe I was so bad in my first poland attempt that I got those units extra so I can't screw up? ^^ Too bad I don't have the savegames anymore. They are all overwrited with the france campaign map...

I've been playing at the Colonel level and didn't notice that much of a change on Norway. We never had the Ju88a, BF110, BF109, 2-PzI, infantry or artillery. The only Aux units at the beginning are that PzIV (in a naval transport), three paratroopers and a fleet of Aux ships. I never remember seeing any of those other units; maybe that has to do with the difficulty setting? The only big changes I've seen is the addition of that big fortress gun, an airport got reorientated, and another airport was added (plus 2 PT boats were added to the Aux fleet).
If my ancient addled brain recall correctly the only airforce you get is the one you bring with you from Poland, so at least one ME 110 and ME 109, unless they got shot down.
For Norway I usually go with a second ME 110 and get the JU 88, best against naval in the German arsenal at that time.
As for losing in Poland
Try getting an extra 105 arty with truck and a stuka or another ME110 on turn 1. I also usually get an engineer on turn 1 so that I can attack cities without the whole rugged defence thing. Remember you can move up to a target then bring in more troops adjacent to reduce the enemy before attacking. This will reduce their initiative and should make it easier for you to not take too many casualites, the best part of PC as far as I am concerned. Go after the Polish fighter ASAP and then take out the bomber, use your air power to nail the Polish artillery then send in the ground troops, and if possible, get the ground boys to take out the arty.
On turn 1 I usually send my air arty, tanks and at least 2 infantry to that city to the left of where you start, leave the ME109 so it is adjacent to the ME110 and the arty, that will keep the Poles from attacking your arty, fighter will attack any enemy air that attacks escorted tactical or strategic bombers or ground units, keeps the Poles at bay and your tanks should be able to take what the Polish air force dishes out. That cav unit to the north can be bypassed to take the city at the top of the map, sometimes it heads for the northern objective, other times it hangs around, either way use your new troops to deal with it on turn 2 or the northern city.
Don't forget artillery first then send in the ground troops.
Hope those suggestions help and good luck in game.
Difficult to complete to complete the Norway Invasion with a Decisive Victory on Colonel and devilishly difficult on General or higher. Bad weather keeps my luftwaffe from attacking more often than not, and I seem to encounter more than my fair share of rugged defensive stands.

I really don't think it's very difficult to complete with a decisive victory and minimum core losses in Colonel. IMO, it has the right difficulty for that level. With RC4 the only thing that I might noticed different, and even that I'm not sure was the weather.
Agreed, I played it again last night and had no problems. I think I must have hit an extraordinarily difficult string of bad weather turns and the defenders ate their Wheaties the last time (which explains all of the 'rugged defense' outcomes).
You are correct, I am playing at the Colonel level. I haven`t lost a match yet at that level, Poland and Norway were decisive victory's. However I do spend alot of my prestige repairing units, and in RC3 I needed the last turn on low countries and another map, I forget which, to finally win.
