hairy field mats

at a show last year there was a firm selling matting which had long grass on. they were in sheets of varying sizes and colours. They looked great as wheat fields etc. But i cant find them anywhere on the web- anyone know the firm name etc?web details....cheers

You are looking for synthetic fur. Here you have a game matt using that

If you go for something in the hobby it will be way more expensive with results not much better than the ynthetic fur. Here you have another example of using this

thanks chaps, am spoilt for choice. Now to decide whether to choose the shaven look or not..

Now to decide whether to choose the shaven look or not..
In fact people "shave" the synthetic fur if they are too long. If that is for a gaming mat, the price is something to consider. Synthetic fur should be around 7.50€ 1.2 meters by 1 meter. The other options are better for modeling, but they could be quite expensive if you want to fill a whole table with them.
