I wasn't too keen, Steve. Compare the following . . .steve-h8 wrote:The scoring system, I think it worked well! Would like to hear your views on it.
Player plays "out of his skin", wins, suffers only 10% casualties - gets 7 points
Two players play out a draw, 100%+ losses each - get 5 points each
Player plays poorly, manages to inflict 81% losses on player who is bottom of the league - gets 4 points
The margin between these quite different outcomes is just 2 or 3 points, which is much too narrow, in my view.

Can’t really see what you mean
if you look at the table. The points do reflect how well a player has played. If a player has had a bad game
not playing good or just bad luck he isn’t going to inflict 80% damage is he. If someone plays bad the most he is likely to get is 2 points from causing up to 59%.
Your point on a draw, you would get points per 20% of damage, which could be anything from 0 to 4 if you run out of time. Anyway draws are very few and far, I have only had 2 in god knows how many games.

Yes, the points system has worked, I don't regard it as a "basket case" or anything. Just that 7 points for a win, 5 pts for a draw and 4pts for a defeat (possibly) is quite a narrow range. I don't agree with your last point - sometimes I play very badly and still win, it depends on who I am playing and how much luck I get.steve-h8 wrote:Can’t really see what you meanif you look at the table. That's just because you charge at the enemy like a nutter!Your point on a draw, you would get points per 20% of damage, which could be anything from 0 to 4 if you run out of time. Anyway draws are very few and far, I have only had 2 in god knows how many games.

Sorry, my last post on this, Steve. In my Condotta tournament of 6 players we had a tie for first place and Frank had a three-way tie for first place in his Barbarian tournament that was structured in exactly the same way. So we do need to come up with a tie-breaker really.
One idea is to go to the corresponding match between the two tied players and see who won that - it is OK as an idea but why privilege that particular fixture over the others?
The idea I am having at the moment is 5pts for a win, 2pts for a draw and 0pts for a defeat. Then one extra bonus point can be awarded in just two circumstances - for the winning player who loses less than 50% of his break points; and for the losing player who inflicts 75% or more damage on his victorious opponent.
