It runs beautifully on my Computer with my 42 inch Monitor at 1900 x 1080. Win 7 64 Bit duo-core Intel and GeForce 260 Nvidia I must admit I needed to move back to see more of the screen. But I am very impressed so far. It is so far very reminiscent of the first days when I remembered playing of PG and PG2. I tackled Polish and the Norway scenario and had some fun. Now I ran it a very easy, no fog of war and weather turned off so I can basically see and try everything without being hindered to strategize too much as this point.
I had tons of difficulties at first distinguishing one plane from another (Fighter vs Bomber) as I purchased some planes but that may be a "me thing" as I am colour blind, so needed to double check before deploying them in the right combat role until I remembered the Up/Down Aerial icon.
All and all with only about 1 hour of play, I am looking forward to really get back into trying a bunch of things out!

Thanks I was at first until I got used to it, just been years and years since I touched a PG type Game, and one comment here: the Tutorial everyone was mentioning was a blank to me as I never got Tutorial messages pop on my screen. Then I figured out that it was not activated in the Options menu. Would you not think it should be at auto-on and not off? I am sure I never touched that option when I first logged in last evening. I was going what tutorial messages are everyone talking about? This was in Campaign and in scenario selection, no tutorial whatsoever until I found it was off. Just think it should be on and require the user to uncheck it is all I am mentioning.
So this evening:
Played 3 campaigns, not 1 bug to speak of, I did encounter where for 1 reason or another it would not accept my mouse click right-click, left-click 2 or 3 times but tried again and bang, there it went! So that may be at my end. Still use RPG user friendly mice.........
If this helps, I even tried larger scenarios like Stalingrad and ran it with 100% speed on and 0% speed on mouse movements with show all enemies moves and battles, then off then back on and not one single glitch. It ran smoothly with all those tries. I even Alt-Tabbed out several times and no problem, even music, sound never lost a beat.
This compared to all the MMO and RPG games I have tested is practically a piece of cake, so gratz Dev team on giving me a smooth gaming experience to test.
Saying that, I am not sure if you want comments that are not Techie related but more from a personal late 40s game player here: I really think you need to incorporate some way to be able once the game has started to read the Objective/Briefing you were shown before your Campaign episode started. Search while I played the game as I could not find it, now it may be a "me" thing in not seeing where you activate it, but I never saw it anywhere.
Also being somewhat colour blind, it would be nice to be able to see what cities are your objectives ALWAYS show on the Main Battle Map (not strategic map), maybe have it "glow or shine or sparkle" or even a button that would do that for you. The Strategic map for me is useless as brown and green are extremely difficult for me to see and having that gold circle is also very hard for me to see but again not everyone is colour blind like me? Now even the old PG games had a Star (if I remember correctly) to show your objectives on a Map, could we not have a Star appear on the mini-map instead of the duo--circle as many times I could not distinguish it on that mini-map. Or at least when you hover over that duo-circle have the name appear over it as I find it practically useless and need to go back and forth to see what my objectives are that I wrote down on paper because I could not find the Briefing again.
These are not complaints just my personal observations and in no way lessen the gaming experience for me but they would certainly heighten it if these kind of things were implemented.
I also worry that this may be too similar to the entire PG series (PG1, PG2, AG1, Pacific-G1 and of course Fantasy General) to warrant a full $60.00 or more if it came on the Market as many like me may still have the complete collection. This would not stop me of course as I am a collector (every RPG out there plus most War games of this type) but drawing a newer crowd to these games when they can purchase the original one from GoG (that works even on Win7 64 bit) for less then $10.00? Now graphically this is way and I mean way better, but I think it is missing a little something that would make it jump out from being just a PG clone to a PG Plus Game. The way I see it now: it is well on it's way there but just missing that little "je ne sais quoi"?
Keep up the work Dev team, as beta testing this compared to the many and I mean many games I have worked on in the past with constant crashes, bugs, broken quests, no sound, can't connect etc....I have finally found something to test that caused me no stress, anger and disbelief! Thanks for having me tag along on this test.
Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback. You can see this on the end turn report but we will be making it clearer.radic202 wrote:I really think you need to incorporate some way to be able once the game has started to read the Objective/Briefing you were shown before your Campaign episode started. They have a thicker border and a glow around them to stand out - you should be able to see it?radic202 wrote:Also being somewhat colour blind, it would be nice to be able to see what cities are your objectives ALWAYS show on the Main Battle Map (not strategic map), maybe have it "glow or shine or sparkle" or even a button that would do that for you.
Not being colour blind it's hard to now what would be better here. If we just used more extreme colours for terrain - maybe as an option would that help? At teh moment we try to make it look good but informative - a colour blind version could be functional but not pretty!radic202 wrote:The Strategic map for me is useless as brown and green are extremely difficult for me to see and having that gold circle is also very hard for me to see but again not everyone is colour blind like me?
