Russian Morale drop

Post by shootymaster »

Hi,

I declared Russia war on March 42. And they did not get the well known morale drop. Why not?

Thanks for help

Hi,

Searching the manual didn't give any hits, but I recall Stauffenberg has posted a possible reason... lets' see...

viewtopic.php?t=25032
"The Russians lose 30 efficiency the first turn you attack during fair weather in Russia. It means you have to delay Barbarossa till May 1941 (sometimes April 1941 if fair weather arrived early). If you attack while the weather is fair in northern / Eastern Europe, but still severe winter in Russia then you won't get any efficiency loss at all. That means you will face very strong Russians and won't have a chance to get as far east as you otherwise could. So make sure you wait until the weather is fair in Moscow. "

Maybe the weather caused it?

What is the logic for such rule btw?

And is it mentioned the manual anywhere?

iA //yesyes, again he talks about the manual

While on the subject... There is a discrepancy regards the length of the severe winter in the manual. Under Russian Winter it says "last for 5 to 7 turns" on page 130. Chart in page 134: "Once Severe Winter starts, the chance it will last 6 turns is 70%, 20% of the time the Severe Winter will last 5 turns, 5% chance it will last 4 turns and 5% chance the Severe Winter will be increased to 7 turns"

The 4 turn SW might supprise someone who reads just the page 130.

Just in case he who edits the manual is interested in taking notes.

Sincerely,

iA

Thanks - I have made the edits and it will be in future versions of the manual!
