Anyone checking that movie out?

My girlfriend is a huge fan of Tim Burton (and associated works) and hence that makes me a big fan <BG> so imagine i'll be getting dragged there

Anyone else looking forward to it?

For me they'll never beat the original Gene Wilder Musical version

I have no idea who this Charlie is or what kind of a chocolate factory he has. Is it like a comedy?

I had no idea Disney was into porn films.

I will see the movie some day, I like Johnny Depp, good actor. So, what is the movie about?

It's a remake of the original "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". Directed by Tim Burton.

Well, I watched the trailer. Looks a bit scary. Is this a kid's movie or not? Beautiful to look at.

Tim Burton movies are normally quirky and very artistic for the adult audience... but then again they are aimed at kids in the same way perhaps Star Wars is... no swearing, gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content.

Well, it's based on the Roald Dahl book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and no, the 1971 movie was released by Paramount, not Disney. The 1971 film with Gene Wilder was a classic (it always freaked me out as a kid; way to trippy) but this one just seems kind of creepy (Tim Burton and Johnny Depp always seem capable of bringing that to the screen

)

By the way, there's no such thing as plagiarism in film, only "homage"

I heard they kept in all the original Umpa Lumpa songs, but Danny Elfman has done all the originally scored peices (what a shock).
