Ferry Crossing?

Post by Plaid »

Any reason why I can't ferry my italian troops from Messina to Reggio?

It could be the three SUB's hidden in the Naval hex's, but I don't know if that blocks the movement.

Did you click on the load / unload button?

With the setup shown you can cross to the hex North of Reggio.

Ferry crossings are free. :)

I also have noticed that before. It used to happen to me only with PARA units. So I gave that to the special status these units have. Anyway, probably they should have the ferry crossing for free and not by paying PP´s.

Yep, its an issue with Para units - they want to jump, walk or rail instead.

Don´t think the subs have something to do on this. May be it is only about the paras with lower effectiveness. When the paras have enough effectiveness to be paradropped they can be ferried. If they have an effectiveness below they cannot be ferried.

This para have effectiveness to be dropped. They have no oil.
Problem with subs is that you can't ferry adjacent to enemy unit, probably invisible one counts, not sure.

I tried this myself and found out the para couldn't ferry cross if not paradrop capable. So I changed the code to fix this.

I can send you the updated game.class so you can check if this fixed your problem. Can you send me an email requesting the updated file?
