French campaign help!

I am having trouble with Battle number 8 in the French campaign. Its the battle where the english are in a big line and the French have 2 cannons advance deployed, with about 8 units behind. Then there are about 8 more units further back and to the left. When the battle starts..the english attack down the center. I have moved my forces up, but just get smashed gradually by the english troops…any ideas on how to tackle this battle?

P.S. REALLY loving the French campaign! The later side battles are actually winnable as opposed to the english campaign where the side battle are actually harder than the regular cvampaign!

Can you drag the English in to the path of the Artillery - they will cause havoc if you can.

Well it seems that the arty stops firing right at the beginning affter a few shots...it does disrupt a couple of units in the center. So should I attack heavily from the center? It seems to take so long for the left wing to march forward into contact.

They only have a limited arc of fire - try and get the English in front of them.

Beat it!!!!

Thanx alot for the idea...it was SO easy. It seems the english army is basically locked in place if you move slow. I brought an arbalast unit up...took out the archers in the middle then moved left with it, taking out 3 more units before the english finnally advanced! Then a heavy cav charge on the left flank tore up the english and I was able to easily sweep the right flank!

And the best part..... I unlocked the guns!!! Woohoo!!! Fear the rifles!!!!
