mp game hunters in the Atlantic

Post by grabbysnatch »

I have been playing this scenario and I have noticed something strange. I am the Kreigsmarine and everytime the other player takes his turn, when I go in to play my turn, it shows his moves. Fine, exept that his ships show up, fire on mine and then disappear. they can't be moving away as I can see them move into range. When I come and take my turn, unless I have a good memory, I don't know where they have gone. Also strange is that every time the UK/USA have their turn, they can use their airforce to attack my ships and everytime it is my turn, it's raining. I have just now been on and noticed the allied aircraft attacking, even though the weather forecast for that turn is rain!

Is this a bug, or am I just very unlucky.lol

The replay shows you the location of ranged units. Ships have a long range. Your visibility is one or two hexes with ships depending upon weather.

So yes, you will have to remember where the enemy is located.

Same with land units.

When the Allies attack from the air... you can too!

Most turns you can not attack with air due to rain.

Weather changes at the start of the German turn because they are the phasing player, just like Panzer General has always behaved.

As for turn replay, just remember your enemy has as limited information as you are getting, so scouting and screening is very important, even more so on double blind mode.

I understand that, but how can they move, spot my units, fire, then disappear so my ships can't fight back? I even had two light cruisers firing at the Tirpitz, disappearing and I was unable to fire/track them. It is very frustrating.

You can hit and run in the same manner.

U-boats, DDs, and Schnellboot advanced scouting and screening is very important.

lol gg!

Yea the German player has a tough job, needing to balance protecting his best BBs but also using them and their heavy guns to smash the British fleet.

It's doable though, I've won as the Germans, and been defeated as the British.
