Egypt not entering war?

Post by ferokapo »

Hi all, here's the situation in my GS2.0 game:

France surrendered in late April 1940, and the Germans accepted the armistice. Because of insufficient Allied Naval presence, Italy joined the Axis in May. British naval reinforcements arrived and are active. However, it's now August, all is quiet in the Med, and Egypt has not yet activated. Expected entry was June 27. Will Egypt only activate once Italy attacks it?

I have read somewhere that there was a randomizer for this type of "self-activation", but I can't find the info anymore. Also, since the expected entry was the 27th of June, it's now two turns later, so the earliest entry would be three turns later (August 26).

Is this much variation intended (i.e. a feature), or is it a bug?

Egypt is supposed to be activated August 6th 1940. Variance is +/- 1 turn.

Okay, thanks! In the manual it says June 27th (IIRC, can't look it up right now).
