First Impressions

Here is what I wrote down playing through first scenario

30 seconds Simple beautiful unit icons and map. Maybe selection choices could be highlighted or a little stronger empasis on. Hex background I though could be stronger although latter noticed an option for doing just this which was very pleasing.

5 Minutes Was thinking anyone whose ever played Panzer General would be instantly at home without the need to read a thing loved the Stuka sirens. Didn't like the left facing Germans would prefer all units to be facing same way tried attacking myself a time or two. Also out of ammo units missed this a few times maybe my fault that one.

15 Minutes totally hooked and only paused to write this before it's off to Norway i see the experience going up on the units and already see it gonna be easy to become attached to them. Maybe one difference I can't remember exactly and have not looked in detail but it seems units start the second scenario with the strength they had left from the first I seem to remeber a old Panzaer campaign trick where you tried not to buy replacements so you had more points left for spending on new units could be wrong about this.

Computer is
amd 1035 processor
4 gig Ram nvidea512 graphics
500 GB hard drive
Windows 7

Hard to judge AI yet but seemed reasonable enough everyone will want to win in Poland. UI was impressive and natural made me feel young again and hope that a new genaration of wargammers will find this as impressive as I did without the fond memories of it's predesessor. Thanks for the chance to try it

Played through the Norway scenario found the victory bug thing already mentioned. Impressions remain very good no crashes very smooth scroll and move bit more challenging than Poland. One pet peeve is I keep toggling the unit list instead of hitting the next unit button minor irritation is all. Sorry but have a question as well is there a way of viewing an individual units kills and medals for campaigns complete I've not found it if there is although that said I'm doing all this from memory without looking at a manual (which is much to this games credit that I'm able to do so). Now off to turn the Maginot line very much got that got to finnish next scenario feel to it most addictive.

Still stuck on France :-(. That said and forgive me this is going to sound very fanboy. I don't think you needed any more testers this game is already very polished. I've found the unit histories and had lots of Iron crosss rewards as well as a couple of heroes real finnishing chrome to an outstanding introductory Wargame that should suit newbie and grognad alike.
Only concern I have is that the game will not be as good PBEM where medals histories kills and all that don't figure so much. It's great as it is but would be even better if the campaign could somehow be PBEM as well as the scenarios. I play most wargames PBEM but just got a feeling that this one might be better playing the campaign solo rather than individual scenarios that don't mean so much when not strung together. Compliments all round.

Still playing solid the as time allows through the first France only a minor so no time for Sealion. Been messing with the alt click to bring up the battle histories a nice touch. Getting a few heroes now that give different benefits I guess this is limited to three per unit. Having to be much more careful with spending the points and now just begining to get a few units up to 12 and 13. Really stable game no crashes no problems so far

Played the second france scenario. All still running well no breaks. However found this scenario a little odd. Durring the sceanrio initial resistance was stubourn but once broken the computer seemed to run out of prestige points or something all through the middle part of the scenario was able to advance at will and picked up lots more prestige points myself than I have been used to finding lots of empty locations to feed on. Also lots more heroes seemed to be created than I have found in the previous scenarios I think I had only two going in but was rewarded with four very early on. The computer found some prestige at the end and fought for the last two victory locations maybe it's just an easier scenario. Either way still very good fun now it's the Balkans for me

Balkans conqured all still stable no problems encountered. In the Balkan scenario though the Italian navy is far too strong and does most of the damage. Off now to Mother Russia and Smolensk
