Spanish Territory after surrender

Post by gmothes »

Maybe I missed it, but if Spain is either Allied or Axis and they surrender, what happens to the hexes? Example, if Spain is Axis and the Allies seize Madrid, but German units are fighting in Spain, are they cut off and out of supply, like in the Vanilla CEAW, or do hexes stay in Axis control, like with Italy? This could apply to Turkey too. Thank you for creating an incredible mod!

Very good question! I would suspect that their surrender would NOT be like Italy's and that all core hexes NOT occuppied by Non-Spanish (or Non-Turkish) allied units would be controlled by the conqueror.

This could be verified (or refute) quite easily by hotseat of this scenario.

Spain is like any other minor in that all of its territory switches to the conqueror in the event of surrender. I just completed a game where this actually happened - the German player had withdrawn all of his non-Spanish units from Spain before the surrender so there were no issues with isolated units but it could happen if non-Spanish units do not occupy lines of supply and supply sources (such as cities or the french border).

Thanks for the answers. Good to know for planning purposes. Probably not a small job, but if any future changes are coming, that would be a good one. Once again, thanks for a great new mod.
