well, I believe the majority of us beta testers are old pg maniacs that waited a looong time to see such an effort. Thus for all of us, price is not an issue. So, in my opinion, this poll should rely on neutral / unbiased οpinions to be statistically correct.
In other words, this is perhaps the only thing NOT to ask from us!

I would put the question different, what if you got the game for free already and so have no personal gain or loss.
What price range would you sell this game at if you were totally looking form the outside, but having seen the game now and knowing the guys who worked on this for almost two years in 100+ hours 7 days weeks, and without pay!

I would pay at the most 30 € for a download version and maybe 36 € for a boxed version VAT included in both prices, I hate it when on top of the price you have to add VAT or any other indirect tax, problem with boxed version is that you have to add delivery costs, I never get the box version I burn the game into a cd/dvd and make my own box.
That in dollars at a exchange rate as of today (6/10/11) of 1,4614$/€ would be 43,84 $ and 52,61 $.
PGII was 48 € back in 1997/8, but this game is very similar in concept.

The price depends on two points, at first the quality of the game and the future potential (patches, upgrades, add ons), the second point is the marketing strategy.
I think all the "old" PG Fans wich played 1994 PG ... love this game and will buy it ... before i was lucky enough to bee choosen for the beta i was knowing i will buy this Game!!!
BUT in my eyes you made a mistake ... it was a fortune to discover this game ... only in a veeeeeeeery small article on www.gamestar.de i found something about this game .. one or two sentenceses and a link ...
and the informations on your page were outdatet ....
I read Magazines ... there was no article ... about the game ... no announcement ... i suggest with an good article in the Gamestar and the PC-GAMES you will attract a lot more people for this Game ... maybe a Download Demo ... one or two maps will be enough ... three are better, a mini campaign, because of the upgrading between this maps ... this will generate more people with interest ... more will purchase!
I will support you i will buy one for me and one for my best friend
And i think its worth to pay up to 50€ for the game! Because of the reason you can play it often and it will not be the same, single player campaign and multiplayer maps AND you said you will go on and make it bigger (this is an important point for a gaming press article) so up to 50€ is fair!
Edit: There should be a price difference between the download and the boxed version.
maybe 35€ / 45€

I'm talking about the Digital price without a box here. It costs us about $10 to print boxes on demand and varies with manual costs so boxed versiosn are usually $10 higher as a pass through cost to give added value to consumers.
Taxes are not included in the price I'm asking here.
So this is the base value of the game, a box would be more, and taxes might be more depending on your local tax system.

Africa deserves and will get some extra proper attention, we have plans, one of my own favourite campaigns DAK and Rommel... it itches already.

I found this game on wargammer.net, the newer wargames they cover all sell for around $50 in US. Good turn based wargames are very rare, and the market for those games is much smaller than mainstream titles. I bought a nintendo ds to play a few! The point is these guys put their hearts into this game, and sounds like they will keep improving it going forward, that dedication is "priceless".
I would say $50 for a box and manual, and $40 or $45 for a download.
