Military Engineers and Rugged Defense

I download Beta .999 and began running through Panzer Schule tutorial again. There is a tutorial message describing the effects of Rugged Defense and how military engineers are immune to it. When playing through the third scenario, I surrounded an enemy unit (love the flanking bonus, by the way), then struck with my bridging pioneers. "Rugged Defense" appeared and the attacking unit was reduced from strength 10 to 1. If bridging engineers are not military engineers from the perspective of being immune to rugged defense, then what characteristic should a unit have for me to look for in the unit statistics, if not the name?

think that that only applies to pioneer units, not the bridging unit. Check the sats the bridge unit is one of the weakest infantry units in game, they are really only there to bridge rivers for you. Keep them back for finishing off a weak enemy, they can still get XP, my current bridge unit is at 11 strength, and they hardly get into fights
