GSv2.00 Axis Manpower Levels

Post by rkr1958 »

German manpower is a critical stat that we tracked and tweaked during beta testing. I thought now would be a good time to share them with the community. Please feel free to comment, provide your thoughts and experiences on this stat.

Later i will track a more in depth information of this matter, but from some games i have played, it seems that for the Germans its very costly to fix units, and there have been many times i find myself fixing units instead of creating ones. With the manpower during the attack on Poland though France the German manpower was around 85-83%. And for the fact that i have been fixing units instead of creating them as slowey built up my manpower. Right after France fell in my game i have around 950 manpower.

Now do keep in prospective, there is a + & - modifier for attacks and other battle results too. but my results from this have been about the same

but from looking a these charts, that major drop, dealing with the invasion of Russia does seem about right.

About german manpower I feel that the game is well balanced now. Before tweaking german manpower I remember that I had manpower issues from early summer 1942 when playing with axis. Now these manpower issues with the germans seem to appear by mid-1943. I also think that this question have much to do with an appropriate use of the german infantry forces avoding unnecessary losses but regardless of this, my feeling is that the game has been pretty well balanced on this question.
