The opening is very nice, graphics good and not too long. I haven't skipped it yet. The game is clearly very similar to PG I, which I enjoyed very much. I like that the 88's are now dual purpose units. I do miss the Leader units in PG II. That was always something to look forward to - will I get a leader as I pass an experience level? It is a bit hard to tell which are my core units. Maybe a slightly thicker line around them? The over-run attack in PG II is missed as well. There is nothing quite like smashing a few depleted enemy units with your tanks in a single turn!

Possible bugs - during deployment on the Greek scenario (as part of the full 1939-1945 campaign) I wasn't able to deploy all of my core units. There were many open deployment hexes and then as I was deploying my units (about half way through) the deployment hexes vanished. I did not add extra units, I was simply deploying the same units that I finished the previous scenario with. I went back to my saved game and tried again, but the same thing occurred. I had to use the cheat codes to add core slots. Once I did that, I was able to deploy the units. This also occurred in the Barbarossa scenario, but only one unit was not allowed to deploy. Let me know if you want the saved game file if it happens again.

No performance issues at all. I'm playing on a brand new Pavilion dv7, i5 quad core machine so none were expected.

More to come as I continue through the campaign.

Thanks for feedback! There are two scenarios where you are only allowed to use part of your core (Greece and Kiev), so this behavior is by design.
