Regimental Gun range

Post by hazelbark »

What is the range? Specifically in the Ming list and I believe others the regimental gun can be assigned to Crossbow, arquebues and other units.

So does the regimental gun have the same range as the unit its with?

I could see a logic that it does, but i could not find clarity in ther rules.

It isn't, it just starts off at a factor of 0 against all target types. There is nothing in the rules (AFAIK) to stop it counting situational POAs.
So for example a Regimental gun in a BG that has a threatened flank does receive the - POA?

But it does not if in a Bow unit suffer the various bow POAs because its not a bow?

That's how I read it - Page 35.

I believe so - yes.

Correct

Yes.
the Rules wrote:Where a battle group has regimental gun capability, when shooting, or fighting in the impact phase, it receives one extra combat dice.
So the RG can only shoot if some of the bases in the BG shoot. Then it adds 1 dice.

Hence it must have the same range as the longest ranged troops in the BG.

Yep all makes sense and was deciphered in same way, but could be explictly a little clearer.
