Weird impossible LOSs

Post by khill9702 »

Ive noticed certain squares on the MP maps have some pretty whacky and improbably lines of sight. In particular there is one on the far right edge of the map of the "Race for the Town" map where there is an LOS that goes straight through the middle of a large patch of trees.

i think i know that spot on the map and have been caught out by it. It looked like a clump of trees but my troops were easily spotted and shot up in it, then an enemy tank fired through the trees before driving right through them (much to my surprise). I think the game treats it as open ground despite the tree graphics.

There are trees and there are blocking trees. Bushes too. The map maker, intensionally or not, placed a non blocking tree or several.
You can call me junk - and type that with one hand.

It sounds like a bug in the map - we would never intentionally place a non blocking LOS tree on a forest tile.

If you can give us the co-ordinates we'll get it fixed.

I dont know how to find coordinates on map hexes but if starting from the german side in town fight it is far left of the map (line one) and about 35 hexes up from the bottom corner (if i counted correctly). The mouse says open ground but there are definately trees there.

Run the editor and load the map .... When you run the cursor over the tiles, the tooltip will display the X/Y coordinates.
