Fragmented troops pursuing

Not that common I grant you but it happened this afternoon.

Not too sure what to do but decided they would pursue. However, this put them into a position to charge a fresh enemy in the flank and totally stumped as fragmented troops cannot charge.

Any answers to both pursuing and contacting fresh enemy with fragmented please?

Pretty clear Frag'd units do pursue.

Note it appears from wording only frag'd units that are hit test, not those hitting.

Also something I never saw. Everyone can always roll not to contact fresh enemy.

True enough.

However, I was thinking about the general rule that fragmented units cannot charge and the specific "If pursuers contact fresh enemy in any phase, this is treated as a charge on the contacted enemy"(pg 141).

Presumably one infers that a pursuit is different from a declared charge, which is forbidden to fragmented BG's; and again that contact in a pursuit is treated as a charge in all respects from a combat adjudication status?
