It's great to see that the top few armies are not dominated by feudal or medieval types. I don't play those periods and it's encouraging to see that the classical period armies are doing well. Would've like to see my beloved Carthaginians do better but thems the breaks.

Out of interest what was in the Carth army?

More spearmen than you could shake several sticks at IIRC.

Thanks for the detailed reply Richard  :D

One of the things I love about the Carthaginians is the variety you can have so I was wondering where the weaknesses lay. Your reply probably addresses that.

The Carthaginian army was 275-235BC with a Siciliot Greek ally. It actually scored more than 12 points, i think it finished with 40. The composition was:

3 x Carthaginian Troop commanders
1 x Siciliot Greek allied troop commander
1 x 8 BG African Spear
1 x 8 BG Greek mercenary spear
3 x 8 BG Siciliot Greek allied spear
1 x 8 BG Spanish scutarii
1 x 8 BG Ligurian Infantry
1 x 6 BG Numidian javelin
1 x 6 BG Balearic slingers
2 x 2 BG Elephants
1 x 4 BG armoured Gallic cavalry
2 x 4 BG Numidian light horse

The army played quite well, i was one of the new beta testers, and consiquently i was a little over cautious with how i played the army. I chose this particular version of the army purely to find out what the difference was with these rules between undrilled spear (the Siciliots) and drilled spear (Africans and Greek mercenaries).

Cheers
