saved game will not restore

I have a saved game from the Greece scenario that will not restore. First time that's happened. The map and units appear as usual, but clicking on them does not accomplish anything. Moving the pointer over units still flashes their descriptions but no amount of clicking on any unit will activate it.

UPDATE: I realized that the music was not playing and judged that something might be wrong with the program rather than the saved game. I restarted the program, heard the music, and the saved game became playable.
