Same here, a bit disappointed as well because of no fight scenes, several developers seem to choose that route for such games, it's sad.
Heck, even the PG clone on Nintendo DS had fighting scenes :O
Those repetitive fight scenes were the first thing I always turned off on PG or other similar games - they slow down the game so much...
Besides, I imagine that they would take quite a bit of effort and time from a development standpoint, and I'd rather either have the game sooner or have more scenarios or better balance or something more worthwhile.
If i was a developer, i would rather have the game published later to please a wider range of players.
Battle scenes were an important eye-candy part for many casual wargamers.
Just look at the forum here, people are asking for battle scenes in several threads and even create new threads with "battle scenes" in the topic, so i don't think that it is not worth it like you may think.
Of course, for people who always turned them off, it won't matter.
But if there is no such thing, we can't turn it simply on either because they just don't exist.
I mean, if there are no battle scenes or any other cool eye-candy stuff, then i might as well just play Commander, HOI II or III or simply jump back to PG1.
But i came too late to this forum to express my concerns, i will definetly like panzer corps anyway, i can live without nifty battle scenes (but it's still sad).
In PG1, the battle scenes definetly were worth it, imo.
Even the Super Command series on Sega Mega Drive had them, and they were worth it.
So, last but not least, only because you turned them off all the time doesn't mean they are not worth it.
It wouldn't hurt you at all if they would include battle scenes since you can just turn them off like you always did in the past on PG1.
