Hi, I read that there is a GS manual and strategy guide, where are they?
What does the Axis North Africa Supply number mean?
Does losing Suez do anything to the British in GS? Should be a dramatic blow to their morale, economy and ability to wage war.

What does the Axis North Africa Supply number mean?

Section 11.10 (pages 88-89) in the manual detail this.

Does losing Suez do anything to the British in GS? Should be a dramatic blow to their morale, economy and ability to wage war.

Each port captured increases axis supply in North Africa by 2-points. The direct impact on the Brits is loss of easy access to the eastern Med, so the effect is tactical.

That ignores the name of this mod - GRAND STRATEGY - if the British lost Suez they had to travel around Africa to reinforce any troops left in the middle east but most importantly they lost the connection with the "jewel of the empire" - India. There would also have been a great blow to British prestige and morale, making partisans less troublesome and encouraging minor nations (perhaps even Vichy France) to join the Axis. The economic effects of this loss would have been great and this should be reflected in the game.

The loss of Suez means the Axis can use the canal instead and the Allies will have to move units around the Cape to the Persian Gulf instead. The loss of Suez would not mean the British would lose contact with India. They would simply have to reroute around the Cape instead.

The Axis actually controlled the Ionian Sea so it was not a good idea to send supplies via Suez between England and the Far East. Transports sailing there would be too exposed to Axis bombing from both Libya, Southern Italy and Sicily.

Britain lost several important areas without a big morale loss making the soldiers perform worse. The loss of Singapore was a major blow. The same with the loss of Hong Kong, Malaya and Burma. Still the British fought on.

So the loss of Suez / Egypt would be dangerous for tactical reasons because Germany would have access to the Persian Gulf and a land route to Iraq and the oilfields there. I don't see a reason to inflict additional losses upon Britain for losing the Suez.
