FOGN - Tactical or Strategic Level Game?

Post by Markovy »

Hi,

With the news of FOGN I very much considering getting back into Napoleonic's after many years out in the cold.

I was considering Lasalle Rules (many because these are play at the Auckland Wargaming Club but will certainly be considering FOGN.

QUESTION: Can anyone tell me if FOGN is a tactial level game (i.e. battalion sized infantry units) or a more strategic game design?

I prefer a tactical style game...

Tks

Units are regiments in FOGN; so not as tactical as Lasalle, but not strategic, either, so not an army level game like Volley & Bayonet, Grand Armee, or Horse Foot & Guns

I think in some way FoGN and LaSalle are similar scale, but FoGN tries harder to get a full Corps on the table wereas La Salle seems comfortable below that.
